Thanks a lot for making this video. I'm so happy that you liked the game!

Ignoring the fact that the weird control issues were totally my fault, this was a fantastic demo showing off the gameplay, enemies and puzzle environments. I can see a lot of planning went into it, and I'm looking forward to the full release!

Thank you so much. I’m thrilled that you enjoyed the game, that’s the most important thing to me! If you liked this game, you might also enjoy the previous installment (“Hydra - Poseidon’s Conspiracy,” though it’s in the style of an adventure and survival horror game). Unfortunately, due to lack of time, I haven’t updated the demo on itch.io,  but the demo on Steam is up to date. I can send you a key for the full version if you’d like.  Back to Deep Sheol, I’m still developing the project and plan to add some light crafting elements focused on weapon upgrades.

Best regards,
Paul

This looks really solid and promising. As a player, I did notice a few areas that could make the gunplay feel even better: enemies don’t currently react much to hits, the pistol's slide animation feels a bit slow, and the shooting could use some extra VFX for impact. Overall though, it’s shaping up nicely, and I'm excited to see where you take it. Best of luck with development!

Thank you very much. What do you think about adding a larger muzzle flash when shooting? - it seems the current one is barely visible. Maybe add a smoke particle or an additional fire effect from the barrel of the pistol and shotgun?

Yeah, I think that would be a great addition. The shotgun already feels almost perfect, just a bit more smoke or a stronger muzzle flash would make it even more satisfying.

For the pistol, I feel it could benefit from a snappier firing animation. Right now, only the slide moves, and unless you’re looking directly at the gun, the movement is easy to miss in peripheral vision, which makes the pistol feel less impactful than it could be. (Of course, this might just be my own quirky observation lol)

One other idea could be adding a subtle screenshake when firing, probably with an option to toggle it in the settings. That's more of a matter of preference though, but it might help the shooting feel more dynamic.
